Ming the Merciless is a fictional character appearing in the Flash Gordon comic strip who ruled the planet Mongo with Mingo as its capital. He is a ruler with an access to a wide variety of science fiction gadgets, ranging from rocket ships to death rays to robots. While he bacame the enemy of the heroic Flash Gordon and his friends, he desired to marry Flash's beautiful companion, Dale Arden whereas his daughter Princess Aura is as evil as he is reformed by her love for Flash. (Evil reformed by love-that is great!)
