ok, before the 3 month period i can see where u may be confused about if it is a baby and stuff but, what about the 2nd and 3rd trimester abortions, i knew a girl that was 2 and half wks from her due date and had an abortion, u cant claim its not a baby that far in the pregnancy, so y are the pro-choicers letting that happen?
i am pro-life i don't think abortion is right under any circumstances , not even if you are raped, my first child i was very young and i was raped and i kept my child, it wasn't his fault and i dont resent him and i believe most ppl could feel this way if they were a good person to begin with.

u know my son doesn't know his father was a rapist, and he will never know,

and in some states abortions are legal before u actually have the baby , no matter how far along u are,

i believe it is a baby from day one, they have a heartbeat before the woman usually knows they are pregnant

society should be all that matters?
well if society thought u should be tortured to death then would that be ok for u, i dont think so
what about the rights of a baby, it is a human being,
i don't understand ppl like u, either u never been a mother or your not a very good one when u think the mothers life is more precious than a childs ,
life is life and should be equal, i didn't know u could put a price on life
if u don't want a baby don't have sex, or if u are raped there is a thing called adoption
there are always other choices y must u murder

keep my nose out of ppls business, well gee when some1 gets murdered it becomes every1s business, and thats the way i view abortion
i have a daughter and because she can be easily influenced what if some1 convinces her one day to have an abortion, that would be my grandchild,

for that are for roe vs wade , roe is trying to get it turned back , she said she should have never done that because she had an abortion and now she feels the after affects of it a regrets it.

The fetus is dead.

The fetus is alive, but continued pregnancy would place the woman's life in severe danger.

The fetus is alive, but continued pregnancy would grievously damage the woman's health and/or disable her.

The fetus is so malformed that it can never gain consciousness and will die shortly after birth. Many which fall into this category have developed a very severe form of hydrocephalus.

These are the reasons that an abortion could be done at such a late stage in pregnancy. Of course there are doctors out there that do things like this for no reason at all, but they are in the minority. If your friend had an abortion 2 weeks before she was due, it was for a sound medical reason. If the baby she was about to have was completely normal and fine, then that is horrid, and yes I am very much so pro choice, I volunteer at planned parenthood. I think that this was not the case, and you are either making up a story to make your question more appealing, or you just don;t have all the facts to the case, or you are omitting the facts that you do have about this woman that you "know."

As a pro choice individual, I think that it is a womans choice, but anyone who does an abortion that late in pregnancy for reasons that are NOT listed above is guilty of murder.

I appreciate the fact that you were able to keep your child and love him as you do, while keeping your sanity. I know many women who could not do what you did so well, and I commend you. But I also stick up for and support the women who are unable to do that.

I believe that abortions after that late in the pregnacy is basically killing it. The baby could survive on it's own, and if they were to take the baby all of the way out of the womb and then suck it's brains out it would be considered murder. This is a great flaw in the system, and I don't see how any decent human being could terminate a pregnacy this late on and not feel tremedous guilt and self-discust. I am pro-choice, but in this circumstance I'm not. Unless it was threatening the mother's life, or was hideously deformed or had a serious condition. That child could have been given up for adoption rather than killed like that.

There is no question that a fetus is a human being from the moment of conception. But that does not give it unlimited legal rights as opposed to those of the mother, who will have to ingest an additional 50,000 calories to bring the fetus to term, and be responsible for the care and feeding of the child thereafter. Clearly, compromise is necessary, and the formulations presented in Rowe v. Wade are a reasonable compromise. From a moral point of view, is it better to bring an unwanted child into existence, at a cost to society, than to deal with the maintenance of children whose conception was intended? It is important to NOT bring some religious view into play here -- the proper criteria must be the ultimate welfare of the society, and nothing else.

I totally agree with you, and congrats on having been so strong through such a hard situation! Good for you!
I have heard it's possible to have an abortion that late into a pregnancy-- it's sickening. I don't agree with abortion even in the 1st few weeks of life, but even a 6-month fetus can survive outside the womb, with special care!

Usually people should be called what they want. But "pro-choice" is crazy. The vast majority of women or girls who have abortions are not making anything like a "choice." They have an abortion because they feel like they have NO choices. There is no freedom of choice at all.
Besides, deciding to have an abortion only exchanges one problem ( a developing child) for another ( a dead child). How can that be a good "choice?"

I'm neither pro life or pro choice........i honestly feel that in some situations i can understand why somebody would abort a pregnancy........not that i could ever do that myself......aborting late into the pregnancy as you mentioned is ludicrous and to me that's more like murder.....i cant believe that this could be done.....unless there were extreme medical complications or concerns.....in the end everyone is entitled to their own opinion and they should be respected......

Tell me something sweetie, WHY are YOU soooo concerned with what OTHER people do?

This is something I will NEVER understand, the need to but our noses in where they don't belong!!

I'm not saying it's right or wrong because it's a loaded question for one thing, the next thing you know, you'll want to know why I feel that way and frankly, it's none of your frigging business!!

Butt your nose out of someone elses affairs!!

It's not you that has to answer for it and it's not your decision to make.

Also, you shouldn't judge people for what they feel is the right decision for them, you can only love them for who they are.

Were you not friends BEFORE this happened??

Did she do something to hurt YOU??

Maybe someday she will feel guilty for what she did and maybe she won't.

In the long run, it's her life, not yours, so keep your opinions to yourself!!

For once we agree. I would not consider an abortion after 12 weeks. That is my choice though. I would not force another woman to follow my example.

I'm sure your son with be glad and live a happy life knowing that his father was a rapist. I'm sure you're also glad that you some man just violated you and that you have to support his son on your own.

Oh by the way, I hope you realize that if abortion is legal, women will go back to getting an old fashioned abortion, the kind that involves a coat hanger. You're just full of compassion huh?
