Unless you RAM is slow, you Virtual memory is really low or your hard is full, you've got virurs.
look, for starters, norton av on it's own is worth very little if you are on the net. even with regular updats you get worms, dialer and stuff coming through. Use a spyware programm to flush out the spy ware that is surely in your computer.
Sacn it in safe mode after you disconnect from the net. use some other browse...not explorer. give you self hight protection so nothing gets installed and don't install anything you don't know. just go to add remove programs and see if there are any programms you don't know about.
or you could format the mechine and install everything from scratch

Norton Virus is working in the background all the time. Also consider getting some free anti virus that will not work in the back ground. Then take your computer to the dumpster and buy a new one.........

I'm surprised no one said "NORTON SLOWS DOWN COMPUTERS!!!!!". I used to like Norton and now I sent my disc back with a poison pen letter and got reimbursed.
If you've got roadrunner or high-speed, usually they'll give you AV software which works great.... Norton always bogs computers down. I'm not saying it's absolute in your case - but it certainly wouldn't surprise me.
