Not a good use of resources. Breast cancer is almost always fatal if untreated - prostate cancer seldom kills. Prostate cancer has very little impact on the gender gap in life expectancy.

More men smoke - or did smoke 20 years ago, and those cancers are showing up now - so more men get lung cancer and heart disease from smoking. Most men abuse alcohol and drive drunk, and that accounts for quite a chunk of male mortality.

More men eat meat-heavy greasy diets, which leads to heart attacks. And men are more likely to carry guns - even if you have a gun for valid reasons, you are more likely to get shot with your own gun than shoot another person with it. More men drive aggressively. Men are more likely to be murdered or committ suicide than women are.

Working on dietary improvement, smoking cessation, defensive driving, and anger managment will save many more male lives than trying to eliminate prostate cancer!
