Yes, Benadryl can make you very sleepy. Take it at night.

Yes, Benadryl is the "PM" part of Tylenol PM and other over the counter sleep medications... so if you need to sleep, you can take 1 or 2 Benadryl.
Benadryl does not put you into the deep phases of sleep like a prescription sleeping pill will tho. I don't think taking one of your moms pills will put you into a coma unless you take other medications that would interact with it (she knows what you take, I don't).
But if you are having problems sleeping, go try some Benadryl, and if that doesn't work after a few days, then call your doctor & he or she can prescribe something that will work just right for you.

Benadryl (diphenylhydramine) is a common ingredient in OTC sleep medications. It is not a good choice for people who have chronic sleeping problems. The prescription sleep aids are a lot better.

If your mom is a pharmacist she would know what you should take or not. And yes benadryl will make you sleepy depending on how much you take. But benadryl isnt for that, it is if you have have allergy, sneezing, itchy eyes...etc.

what? I shall try to decipher your question.

Benadryl is a brand name of diphenhydramine. It is an antihistamine drug for allergies and the like. A major side effect is drowsiness. Hence it is the active ingredient in various 'sleep-aids'.

Your mother is a Pharmacist. Surely she has told you to grab the boxes and read the active ingredients. See!.....they are the same.

Now what were you saying about a coma?
