I have had many friends and acquaintances tell me that when you meet the right person...you "just know". Do you believe this to be true? If so, can you elaborate a little?

I just knew when I met my husband 28 years ago. Had dates with two other guys that week, beginning of the week and then also after the date with my future husband. After going out with him one time, I told the other guys ( I was only dating my future husband) there would be no more dates with them.

Yes it is definately true although not very common. My husband and I knew the moment we met that we were meant to be together, and he lived in a different country and spoke a different language! He moved to Canada from Puerto Rico to be with me, and 4 years later we are more in love than the day we met. When you meet the right person, the feeling is mutual, you are able to be yourself 100% with that person, and you work hard to make each other happy every day you are together. Believe me, it's worth the wait, after 8 years of an unhappy marriage, I was very skeptical, but I truely believe that if you are with the right person you will know. Trust your inner voice, when you are in the right relationship, there is absolutely no doubt.

I knew the moment I saw him. Yup! He knew the moment he heard me speak. We knew mutually the moment we sat together. We moved in together 3 weeks later, and after 2.5 years, we're still going strong. (with a few hiccups here and there)

I don't think you "just know".
