how do you get downloaded games to work?

i downloaded an emulator and i cant open a game file from the emulator because i dont have a program to open it. whats the whole process after you download a game? whoever succesfully solves my problem will get best answer.

You are talking about you downloaded a game file (ROM) to play on an emulator?

If so your game file needs to be left in its downloaded form of a zipped file, and placed in the emulators folder, If the emulator has a sub file called ROMS place the game file in there.

The emulator is what really opens the file to for you to play no other program needed.
