Since you already have the LinkSys router, you will need an internal wireless PCI NIC card in your PC or get a USB plug-in wireless NIC if you don't want to crack open the case.
But make sure that the other PC conforms to the dominant wireless standard, known as 802.11b, or Wi-Fi (short for wireless fidelity).
Here is a how -to guide that will be helpful to you...http://www.time.com/time/2002/tech/cellphones/wireless1.html

You need a router - preferable connected to a desktop (but there are ways around that). Once you see the internet from EACH computer, then you need to SHARE the drives and printer so that each computer can see each other - Thereby making a 'home network. Make sure that the 'wireless base'? you have is a wireless router.
If you don't have a card in your computer, you'll need to get a PCM-CIA NIC card (I prefer them over USB but there are USB NICs out there too). Many new computers have internal cards but if your computer is older, you'll need a PCM card (it slips in the card on the side). Depending on your operating system, you may need a driver for the card. Most of the times, one comes with the card but you can always download the driver from the manufacturer's site.

Scotch tape a hanger to the side of your computer case. You should be able to pick up TV stations also.
