It's not just young soldiers who are dying. Many are older who are in the National Guard with wives, children and homes. Yes, we should get out of Iraq. We have no good choices left, and getting out might force the Iraqis to realize that the ball's now in their court. I believe that some of the violence will cease once we leave. The U.S. soldiers are just targets right now.

Well, we are still in Korea and will be for the foreseeable future. The Korean War is only at a cease-fire/truce...it's not technically over.
The fear of communism was overstated and read the posts, there are still a whole lot of folks still fighting the cold war.
But today our biggest trading partner is also the biggest communist nation on earth....so we must not really be that afraid of communism to keep pumping billions of dollars into their economy to build their army, navy, airforce, etc.
Afghanistan suffers from an anemic US force. If we had the kind of forces being wasted in Iraq, we could actually do some good there and something that would make us proud.
Saddam is gone and we'll have to wait and see how good or bad a move that was.
And truthfully, Iraq is not worth the blood of a single American let alone the blood of nearly 3000 brave men and women.
Congress and the Senate need to grow spines and stop Bush's adventure in Iraq.

Saddam never tried to kill Bush Sr., but we certainly should not have gone to Iraq in the first place. Now the US is responsible for a civil war in Iraq, 100,000 Iraqi deaths, and nothing was accomplished. That's why you shouldn't mess with other people's affairs. When will the US learn?

Well, I believe we made a rash desicion going in there. We should of waited until we had the UN's support. I don't believe we can pull out now though. That would be unfair. We took apart Iraq's government, now we have to put it back together. We need to finish the job we started, then pull out. George Bush seems to be having trouble with this, so maybe someone else should step in.

no, then bush can't use totaliterian tactics for controling the population. Or maybe he could still say the gays were responsible for 9/11 and keep people afraid that way. Then he could say mexicos a gaay country and invade it.

only when iraq can handle its own internal security as well as staving off a threat from iran.
we should also man pernament airbases there, for strategic needs.
If you think they are dying for no reason, then you need to get your head out of your 4th point of contact

It's not about a "war on terror", "fighting for freedoms", or "the Taliban". It's REALLY all about THIS!...
