A. Although this is often overstated, the Romans seem to have been less intent on belief than on ritual/ceremony. D is a close second, but although difficult, it was at least possible for newcomers to manage to attain to high political offices (e.g. Cicero), and all 'nobility' meant to a Roman in the republic was that someone from a certain family had been consul.

i can tell you B and C are not true. Men and women were not equal even though the women had more rights than other people we might compare them to. Women were not allowed in the senate and we never did see a female emperor in that time.

i don't think A is true at all because they were not tied down to any specific god. it was more or less: worship the god of your choice, one that does something for you. so, they would have their favorites. come on, think about it. how many gods did they have?

D is true. emperors/kings (whatever) were only allowed to come from the descendants of other kinds. if you were upper class, you had to marry upper class. with that intent, the lineage was to stay clean of outsiders. although, the Romans were known to break a few rules here and there.

Its not B or C. I don't know what they mean by ceremonial. I'd have to go with D. I'm pretty sure the nobility was closed and they married within their own social ranks.

Side note, I know I'm doing your homework for you but I'm getting easy points.

I would say D, but C sounds attractive too, because Roman woman had great freedom. The could divorce and own property.
