I used to own one, but got rid of it. It would have the tendancy to restart occasionally and wasn't really a good one for portability and just wouldn't be nice to me.

The 1705 is a pretty big computer. Not bad if it's going to be your desktop but I find it too big and heavy to lug around. The 1705, 1505 and 1405 are almost identical - just the screen size is the difference and they're all awesome machines..... The 1405 is perfect for school and 1505 is really a nice size and in-between... so depends on your usage. All have ALMOST identical capabilities. Remember with Dell, you get to choose a lot of your components.... make sure you get THE BEST True Life Screen and a Duo Core processor and a gig of ram....you won't be sorry.

If you're going for the 1705 and your young - why not go for the XPS?..... even more bells & whistles......
