37 weeks 4 days
2cent. dilated
70% effaced
Non-stress test Sun. showed that I was having contractions but Dr. said they were just enough to get on my nerves and gave me some pain med. and sent me home. When will she admit me and move this along. I cant handle the pain in my back anymore but feel like a baby when I complain to her and I don't want to sound inpatient.

They like to wait until up to 10 days after your due date. If there is an issue with pain and discomfort, ask your dr. to induce, they should be willing to at this stage of pregnancy. Some woman go 42 weeks and no baby, I was 38 with all of mine, it will come, it just seems like FOREVER that last week! Good Luck!

Wow,i know how you feel sweetie the end seems longer then the entire pregnancy. You can't count on your doctor admitting you unless you are having consistant contractions that are showing cervical change.I was 3 cm and 100% effaced for 3 weeks, the only reason they finally induced me ,at 38 wks was because i was having twins. You need to waslk as much as you can because that will help your uterus to be stimulated which can put you into labor.Doctors love to see you hold that baby in there until the entire 9 months is up.Hang in there , try the walking thing to get your labor started. I know you must be in terrible pain with your back, believe me sweetie you are not alone, try to rock on your hands and knees that will get rid of your back pain, put a pillow or 2 ! under your belly while you are in that position it really will give you some temporary relief. Stay strong your almost there.

First baby?....I had the same thing with my daughter and im sorry to be the bearer of bad news but this all depends on your body...everyones is different....i was at 40 weeks when i finally went in there and said look you have got to speed this up now...lol...i was getting really frustrated. They took me in and gave my a med that made my contractions speed up....but i still had a long labor even with that......39 hours worth. Try some heat on your back and get someone to rub it for you. If you can stand it they say its better to let it happen naturally than being induced like i was. Hope you have the baby soon and that you both come through ok and are healthy. Good Luck

You sound realllllllyy uncomfortable. Don't feel bad about complaining to the DR. Call the nurse and tell her that you need more instructions on what to do about the pain. Could it be a UTI? This is a very stressful time for you and you need lots of support. Bother them to death until you get results!! If you feel panic be sure to tell the DR. Also tell the DR. if you are having problems breathing normally. Good luck and I hope you have a good delivery.

Usually Doctors will let you have the baby at 38 1/2 weeks. There concern is that the baby's lungs are not fully developed. So stay patient and I know it is hard. But have a family member rub your lower back, keep a large pillow between your legs this will ease alittle pressure off your back. Good luck and God Bless you and your new baby.

It should be within a few days, but you need to stay active to try & get conractions regular. (remember it could take 3 more weeks) so stay active. And have sex...lots it will help induce labor as well as it will be along time before you will do it again. Good Luck

You will be able to feel a difference in the degree of your contractions, but maybe your doc will admit you before that.

ok you are the patient tell her this is about YOU and your needs not her and her schedule, SHE being a woman should know this.
Tell her that you want to have this baby, ask her to strip your membranes at the next visit- baby by the end of the day! (this is not breaking water- it is a natural thing no drugs... google it)

i just had my babe a week ago and i did everything under the sun to have her i drank Castro oil tree times and it did not work so I came to the conclusion that You cant rush perfection the doc wont induce you unless you have a medical condition so just know your body and it will let you know
