Eight Legged Freaks. That is a funny scary film.
Also Shaun of the Dead which someone else recommended.
Or Dog Soldiers, a funnyish werewolf movie.

My favourites are The shawshank redemption and the princess bride both of these can be watched with your boyfriend without him thinking that they're chick flicks. However I'd be surprised if he didn't have a little tear in his eye for the first one and hold out for the kissing in the second.

Goal! (Mexican lad trying to make it at Newcastle United)
Batman Returns (Best Batman movie...)
Field of Dreams (Kev Costner)
Planes, Trains, Automobiles (affectionate comedy with Steve Martin and John Candy - nice ending about the meaning of friendship)

To match both your genre preferences:
"Shaun Of The Dead" - the world's first rom-zom-com (romantic comedy... with zombies.)
Just because it's great:
"Don Juan De Marco" - Johnny Depp on top form and a surprisingly awake Marlon Brando :)
