You far right nutcases would certainly have called him a coward, soft on terrorism, a tratior to his country, anti-war, a friend of the enemy. What will you call your own Senate Majority Leader for saying this?

Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, who was traveling in Afghanistan, said Monday that Taliban fighters were too numerous and too popular to be defeated. "You need to bring them into a more transparent, leadership type of government," he said. "And if that's accomplished, we'll be successful."

(House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, the United States went to war in Afghanistan to defeat the Taliban for its role with al-Qaida.

"Senator Frist now suggests that the best way forward in Afghanistan is to coddle the Taliban by welcoming Taliban members into a coalition government, as if 9/11 had never happened," Pelosi said Tuesday in a statement.)

What did the Senate Minority Leader have to say about Frist's surrender concept?

Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., in responding to Bush's criticism of Democrats, said: "His Republican leader in the Senate thinks America should empower the Taliban terrorists who aided and abetted Osama bin Laden."

Bill Frist is a coward and a complete fool. I believe he suffers from a disease that afflicts many conservatives when they have been in DC for too long, he is saying provocative things so that he will be more popular at cocktail parties and the New York Times will call him a Maverick.

I have not heard from politicians but right wing radio has been extremely critical. I am a Republican, I agree that if a democrat would have said that I would have called him a coward and a fool, just like Frist.

As a Republican...

I think Frist is dabbling too much into pragmatism to the point at which the Afghan war will prove almost meaningless.

I believe in pragmatism in world affairs, but this is absolutely ridiculous. Frist should be ashamed.

I'm so embarrassed that I live in a state with such a dumb senator... (NV)

Regarding Bill Frist... what? it doesn't sound like he said we should welcome the Taliban into a coalition government. is this a spin on his words like you guys are so good at, or is he really really dumb

I wasn't saying you took it out of text, i'm saying if that is his exact wording, Nancy Pelosi spun it... right or wrong? I dont know what "transparent leadership" means to Bill Frist, but it doesn't mean Invite the Taliban in to me...

Frist is an idiot, period. And speaking of idiots the chief idiot on fox news, Sean Hannity had this to say on March 13, 2006.

" The Taliban is the worst regime in history" LOL

I guess no one told him who Hitler and Stalin were. I wonder what Hannity thought of Frist's white flag waving effort? I bet he didn't mention a word about it.

Interesting indeed and yet another reason for me to dislike Senator Frist. Hopefully he will be banished from office the next time he up for reelection.

I don't think republicans know what they're doing anymore. They know they're getting kicked out of office next month so they're running around like a chicken with its head cut off.
