They look like hives, but are the same width as my belt. I don't think my belt it too tight. After a few days they actually start bleeding and scabbing over. Any idea what's going on?

Do they itch? I used to get the same thing, and found out long ago that I was allergic to metal and it was from the metal that was touching my skin all day...whether it be a belt buckle, or the tiny piece of metal on jeans. If you think that may be it, cover the part of metal that touches your skin with nail polish...worked for me.

Other than that I can't think of anything else. Is it just on your abdomen or does it go all the way around your back too? Either way, sounds like an allergic response.

it IS because your belt or pants are too tight and when you sit for long periods of time that's why you get those irritating red lines that itch. DO NOT SCRATCH THEM, if you scratch them it causes bleeding and scabbing because you are breaking the skin by scratching.

Try placing something cool on the lines to sooth the itching...like a cold wash cloth or an ice pack. you could also get some ointment that stops the itching...good luck!

you could be allergic to your belt, is it leather. or maybe you are having some kind of reaction to something else totally unrelated, and the belt could just be irritating it. i got the same reaction when i found out i was allergic to sulfa drugs. are you taking an antibiotic. talk to your dr. you may need a shot of epinephrine to stop the itching and swelling of the hives

Are you allergic to nickel? My daughter had this same problem, and it turned out she was allergic to the metal buttons on her jeans, and the metal buckels on her belt. The doctor said this is quite common, and that nickel is used a lot in cheap jewelry, belts and buttons and rivets in jeans. If that's the problem, you can paint the metal with clear nail polish, and that should stop the reaction.

Sounds like you have an allergic reaction to the metal in your belt. Experiment and don't wear one for a week and once it's clear try it. You'll know. Take benadryl for swelling and itching until it's gone. Good luck to you

You could be allergic to your laundry detergent, allergic to the fabric. If the rash occurs only with certain pants, you might check the fabric label and compare. If the rash is on ONE side, like all on the left or all on the right, you could have "Shingles." Shingles are very painful, they bubble up like little blisters and can occur on a regular basis. There is suppression medication for this condition.

Do your pants have elastic that touches your body? If yes, you may have a latex allergy. Or an allergy to whatever material the inside of your waistband is made of.
