Location, location, location!

Inexpensive depends on location or you are a really rich person. In the cities like Krakow, Warsaw, Poznan the square meter ranges from $1,000 to $2,500 (depends on neighberhood) so for most of the people it's not cheap. My friend has recently bought a 55 square meter flat in Krakow near Rynek glowny (1 km from it) and paid $72,000, so it's about 1,310 for square meter and it's still going up. And in 2007 properties are going to rise 20% due to the tax which will be introduced in January. It has somehting to do with the EU membership. If you are talking about the land, so in some places is very cheap, but there is no point to keep it, but there are areas that the land is very expensive, especially near big cities.

When Poland joined the EU it opened the door to foreign investors. You can expect inflation to continue. I think there was an article in the Economist about this. Investors from countires like the UK and Germany are flipping properties in Poland and making a killing.

Currency exchange and ease of the transactions.

How can someone from the US safely invest in land in Poland? I would love to know.

because they just joint European Union and the prices on property's are from the sky right now .
there are no rules to sell the houses in Poland and is very hard to say if the prices on the houses are fair or not-wild west.
