it takes T I M E more then anything else. you also have to find a way in your mind to come to terms with it. like stop dwelling on the fact that this person you loved broke your hearyt and start thinking more deeply then that, like if that person loved you the same would you even be in this situation ?.....hm? is he worth that amount of emotion? is he REALLY the person you loved is he truly what you see him as being and your heart broken because that wonderful awesome guy hurt you?, or is your heart broken because you realize hes NOT what you thought ,he isnt really that...... think about those sort of things rather then just mulling around in your sadness, its gonna hurt for a while no matter what though and im sorry your goin through this but it WILL get better i promise! theres alot of really great guys out there.

You should spend time with your friends, not just for a listening ear and support, but if you and your friends are participating in some kind of activity together it will help keep your mind off of the person.
Also, just keeping busy in general with work and day to day responsibilities around the house is good.
Try not to let your thoughts dwell on the person or what you think are the good times, etc. When you catch yourself thinking about ther person, try to focus your thoughts on something different. It will be hard at first, but it can be done. I know, I've done it. I used to let my thinking about a person get out of control and feel so bad but as I started becoming aware that I was thinking of him I would try to start thinking about something else that had nothing to do him.
It's hard, but as you follow doing the above things, your wounds will heal.
Lastly, volunteering some of your time to a good cause would not only help others, but yourself too.
