I wouldn't even consider a laptop with one gig a laptop, because the most it could possibly fit is maybe Microsoft word and a couple documents. May be a good internet browser if that's all you need though.

well basically it depends on what you will use it for and what your price range is... you didnt give me any additional information other than the RAM but basically i think 1 Gig is barely average to tell you the truth, it was great last year and went stale, as higher end models have 2 gigs and support upwards of 4 gigs and i would wait because windows vista is coming out and the aveo that it has rocks as i have the beta version... it truly is awsome so basically its good for windows XP but is is average for vista and flat out no good for vista premiere.... but as i said it depends on what you like you should go to the vista web site simply do a yahoo search as it has a great scan tool to tell you what you need to upgrade... some will tell you as a student or what not that you only need average such as ram HD and such, but as a IUSB university student i say they are fool of it because you need to be hip with the times as new technology changes and you will have to have vista as your OS to keep up especially on a campus where Microsoft targets its young intelectuals... i hope this helps you.... 1 gig is im sorry kind of outdated...
