Executive secretaries hold a lot of power in the hierarchy of a company. These people are masters of time management, and they will understand that they work for people that are too busy, so one of their most important jobs is to run interference.

What I mean by running interference is that they will make sure that their boss is not being pestered by people that drop by his office to throw more work at the boss. Work that should be sent elsewhere.

The executive secretary is not there to fetch coffee for the CEO or to pick up his laundry.
