That's a great question. It is a long hard road that I'm not sure the people or the government is ready to take. We have gone so far down the "Team America: World Police" path that we will have to put our xenphobia and jingoism in the closet and admit we aren't the only ones who have any good ideas. That's a tough sell in America these days.

What we need is another USSR figure to check us a little. History is full of examples of how unchallenged "empires" ran themselves into the ground, or got so bloated they couldn't react when the changes were needed. I am hoping China will get its act together to wake us up, but not sure if it will happen (or we will notice) soon enough.

I think the first thing we need is a government executive that conceeds to the fact that our way isn't always the best way for all and widely excepts the fact that we are not the supreme power that we once were. This is followed closely by a realization that it is going to take multiple years and terms by someone else to undue the damage that has been created by our current executive branch.

Don't be intimidated. Speak up the truth and new ideas to everyone you know, even if the Republicans steal the election again. Rising voices will win the day. No more secrets and hiding.

I'm a right wing gun toting bla bla bla. But my east coast liberal jewish friends, know me as Greg. We talk about ideas, and solutions and not sound bites. They come from a different view, but I recognize they love their kids, and our country just as much as I do. They just come from such different starting points that we disagree on the HOW. Funny, we never disagree on the WHAT, ( Love of Peace, good education, strong economy, equal rights, freedom, prosperity).

That's how.

OH, I just re-read the question, you weren't referring to democrats and republicans in the US, you were making an anti US statement. Never mind my answer then, you're not ready for it.

Pull back our troops form everywhere. Strenghten our borders. Keep all the troops employed as policemen. Spend 100% of our budget on our own country. Watch all hell break loose elsewhere. Wait for all those that hate us to beg for our help. Send them a bill. When they pay, swoop in and save the day.

I guess we could just start a war with anyone who doesn't like us....but then again I'd hate to see what taking on the entire world would look like.
