Well from a numerological point of view, 9 is a very good number to have (not that any are bad...they're all just different). It represents the beginning and the end of all human experiences. But just because you see a number often doesn't mean that it is YOUR number. Everyone has a birth number based on either their birthday or their name. But specifically about the 9...It means that you are very forgiving and an introvert. Some of your strengths include love and compassion, brotherhood of mankind, having big opportunities in life, and a capacity for living by Divine Standards. Some of the negative aspects of the number 9 are impulsiveness, possessiveness, moods and depression, and wrong habits. Colors that 9's are partial to are red, carmine, lavender, olive, straw, and smoke. 9 also represents mankind's last earthly lesson: forgiveness. A 9 also attracts money and fortune.
If you give me more information about what else you want to know about 9's such as opportunities, vocations, human relationships, etc, I'd be glad to give you the info. If you want to go searching on your own, I know a ton of really great numerology books.

9 is very versatile.
the digits of any number divisible by 9 add up to 9
9 is the highest digit in the decimal system. and its abasolutely sexier than F, the highest digit in the Hex system. Only 7, the highest digit in the Ocatal system has a chance of beating it.
1, the highest digit in the binary system, on the other hand suffers from also being the ONLY number in the binary system (0 is just a place holder)
But most importantly, NUMBER 9 is what the beatles say in the white album...

the movie Pi gave a very good example of numerology: When youre looking for stuff in math, youll always find it. Whatever your mind gets set on, youll just notice it however many times it happens. In the movie he gets stuck on 213 (he was a mathematician in the movie, making it more severe). For instance: Youll notice everywhere that you walk that takes a multiple of 9 steps (or youll subconsiously try to do it in a multiple of 9), but you wont notice the other 90% of the time that it doesnt. and with the addition: its just sheer statistical probablity. 9 is a very easy number to make: Its like rolling a 7 in dice. its one of the most probable numbers to get when adding 2 digits. overall: it means nothing. you just notice it because youre looking for it. If my number was 10, would it be amazing that my last name has 7 letters, and the last letter of my first name is an E, which looks like a backwards 3, OMG 7+3=10! I have 10 fingers! AND TEN TOES! holy crap the number system is based on 10s! AND STING THEORY SAYS TEN DIMENSIONS?! you can do that for every number.
