its a 1995 honda del sol. i just bought it a month ago. i was a victim of a hit and run. he clipped my front bumper and my car scraped against the center devider. it looks okay but i just want to make sure before i fix it. body shop wanted 7,000 for it but i think it would be a lot cheaper to just fix it myself with after market parts.

do a cross measurment to tell. measure from one front point under the car to one rear point on the opposite side. do this again at the same two places on the opposing side and compare your measurments.

Most automotive mechanics have little or no experience in frame and body repair. There is big difference between a mechanical technician and a body technician. And rarely will you find a shop that has Certified Mechanics and Certified Frame Technicians under one roof.
So take it to a body shop or some places even have frame shops.

There is no 'frame' on your vehicle. It is a unistructure design. To answer a part of your question, the unistructure or unibody CAN be repaired. It is done thousands of times a day, every day in body shops across the world. You can measure the structure to determine if it is 'bent'.

I heavily doubt it, totaled basically skill wrecked to the factor an insurance organization thinks that's no longer nicely worth it to repair, simply by fact the maintenance are equivalent to greater desirable than the automobiles fee. in simple terms b/c the physique has somewhat injury doesnt propose something, a million/4 of the automobiles on the line have physique injury and drivers offered them that way unknowingly. seems such as you in easy terms desire some physique/physique artwork.

The only accurate way of telling is to take it to a body shop where they can use the proper equipment to check the frame.

Take it to a body shop and check it on a frame machine to see if it's bent.

A good mechanic with a lift should be able to tell, or go to a good shop that installs shocks and struts. Or like others have said, a body shop.

have a friend follow behind you and if your car is driving crooked there is a good chance that your frame is damaged.

Run your finger across the body. If you feel a indent...your frame is bent
