In July I had strep throat and within a week it was gone after I went to the doctors. Ever since then though they have been extremely swollen and abnormal looking, one looks like its forming a small hole. I also have trouble breathing and swallowing dry foods, but it is not painful. Should I get my tonsils removed?

You should consult a doctor about this and ask him/her about your options. It may be recommended that you get them removed, if there are abnormalties.

I don't think you can just get your tonsils removed upon request. I have had several episodes of strep and they said I had to get three positive tests, but since all my tests were from different faicilities, they wouldn't take it into consideration. In your case, I would have them removed because sore throats always come back and they are very painful. Be careful because mine lead to an ear infection which ended up perforating my eardrums 3 times. If you get tested for strep, make sure you always get them done at the same doctors office.

My tonsils get swollen and contaminated each 6 months or so. One well being care expert informed me I could have them bumped off if the subject gets worse. actually tonsil removing in adults is a painful, complicated restoration. yet I even have heard those with comparable issues that say their tonsil issues/sore throats disappeared thoroughly whilst that they had them bumped off. in case you smoke you may provide up collectively as they're annoyed. Gargle with heat water and salt thrice an afternoon and drink heat, soothing beverages like tea yet steer away from dairy. wish you sense greater advantageous and that your tonsils bypass down. :)

Know the asteroid wellhead tonsil stones them for many years and it's been title not eventually.

Best decision I've ever made! I was shocked by the way of getting out the stones out. It was so easy, but more importantly, painless. I really liked the little trick he had for preventing gag reflex. He have one happy customer here.

Get back to your doctors my dear! Strep infections can become chronic! It may be that you do need your tonsils removed. I could also be that you've got a touch of glandular fever..but until your doctor does some swabs and some tests, you don't know.

Every one who is telling you to see your doctor is right.
If you are not getting the right answers from your doctor, maybe you should get a second, or even a third opinion.
Any other advice you get from here overlook it.
perhaps you should go directly to an Ear nose and throat specialist, sometimes a general practitioner may be a good doctor, but they do not neccesarily have all the answers.
See the specialist.
