i own a repair shop,,and part of the reason is they cant guarantee the part if they don't purchase it,and another thing is,,they make a profit from there parts, and by you getting them,,they can no longer profit from them, and the labor is not going to be that much on it,,but the very main reason is,,if they had bought it they would be able to guarantee it,but if they use your parts and it goes bad,,they know your going to call them first because they put it on,this is policy at most repair shops now, good luck with it,someone will install it for you just keep calling around, you,ll find someone, good luck.

Some garages won't use your parts because they want the "extra" that they will get from marking up your parts. Unlike most garages, I do not charge retail or even close to retail on my resell parts.
Our garage will use parts that a customer brings, but conditionally, if the parts that are brought to us are wrong and the car then is causing downtime on our lift until the correct parts are obtained, then I charge you for that downtime. If we have to put the car back together so that parts can be reordered, then you pay for having to put it together again, and if your parts are faulty and we have to replace it again, then you pay for installing it two times.

They wont accept it b/c they want to make up the cost on there parts and sell them to you. Just ask around and see if anyone knows a "car guy" who will change the gas tank for you.

um yea the straps is what holds the tank up, like somebody else has suggested shop it low on gasoline and use a jack below it why the could desire to replace straps? from my journey in possessing countless Jeeps I particularly have never performed or heard of absolutely everyone having to replace them.

they make their money on providing the parts also. your best bet is to do it yourself jack it up and drop the old one and put the new one in.
