This one's from experience. I'm a 21 year old college student and I hated how thin I was for YEARS. Your best bet is to go to the store and pick up some protein powder. If you don't have one already, find a friend who has a Vitamin World or GNC discount card and head over there to pick up a huge tub of the stuff. Take the recommended dousage and work out.

Seriously, it doesn't have to be a lot. Just some sit-ups and push-ups if you don't have exercise equipment handy (although I would recommend heading out to a gym if you've got one).

Add a TON of protein to your diet. The proteins supplied by foods of animal origin are called complete proteins because they contain many of the so-called essential amino acids, which the body cannot make for itself. Meat, poultry, fish, eggs, and dairy products all provide substantial quantities of complete protein.

Proteins from plant sources, such as peas, beans, nuts and grain in cereals and bread, are known as partially complete proteins, because they are lacking in one or more of the essential amino acids.

If you feel up to it, add some Creatine to your diet as well. If you have any questions, ask the guy/girl at the counter of the GNC/Vitamin World/whatever to help you out, they'll be more than happy to. Don't eat crap like donuts and all that to add some weight. That's fat, and nobody's attracted to fat. Add muscle instead.

Take it from me. I'm 6'0" and I've gone from 130lbs to 180lbs in just 6 months! And on top of that, I look a hell of a lot better than I ever did. Good luck!

There is no such 'natural' way to gather some fat. If you are underweight, want to look a bit healthy but a huge boulder then eat things which have more oil, ghee or butter in it but do not eat excessively. You don't have to be a couch potato either to gain weight. If you search the web you will find many things to gain and lose weight like herbalife etc. Such international companies are good to rely on to gain weight healthily.

One thing you shouldn't do is just pack up on the junk food, because you'll gain tons of weight, but the wrong weight that is considered flubber. If you wanna gain, you wanna gain some muscle fat so you'll still be thin but not bulgy. Try consuming good fats, like instead of having a bowl of corn flake cereal, substitute it with whole bran cereal (130 cal vs. 240 cal.), and eat a lot of filling foods like wholesome carbs, sandwiches, nuts, and avocados. That way you'll gain the weight you need, not the bulgy fat that sticks no matter what.

I have spent the last 15 years trying to gain weight, and although there are some methods that actually do work, because of high metabolism, many people will never be able to gain weight. So, keep in mind that even if you do finally reach your ideal weight, you will have to work hard to maintain it, and still may not be able to.

I am now on a medication and the side effect happens to be increased appetite and weight gain. Yippee!!!

What works for me:

1. First and foremost, always ALWAYS count your calories. You want to try to maintain a caloric intake of about 2,000 per day. Although junk food has the most calories, you'd be much better off eating healthful foods with high-calorie toppings, sides, etc. or adding a soft-drink (fruit juices have about 200 calories per serving while sodas have about 150). Dairy products (milk, cheese, ice cream) are also very high in calories.

2. Try to eat a lot of starches (bread, rice, potatoes, pasta).

3. Try to add 1 meal per day to whatever you currently eat (ex. if you currently eat 2 meals per day, increase to 3; or if you eat 3 meals per day, increase to 4). And remember the starches.

4. Do about 25 situps each night to keep the weight from sticking to your stomach. There's nothing worse than a thin woman with a flabby stomach.

5. Last, but most importantly, drink at least one milkshake per day and/or have a bowl of ice cream every day.

6. You'll want to do exercises to keep your body toned (weightlifting, situps, pushups, stairmaster, slow and uphill bicycling, lunges, squat thrusts, etc.) but try to avoid exercises that will burn all your calories.

If you do this, I bet my bottom dollar you'll gain about 20 lbs in two months or less. The tricky part will be keeping the weight on.

If you do not want to get a specialist's advice, then it is best for you to do the FAT PEOPLE's way. I m very very skinny when I was a teen.(I m still a teen)So,I followed my mum who is quite fat. She will eat UNHEALTHY/JUNK food before she goes to sleep. This works.I think there is a scientific explanation behind it. I guess the carbs just multiply n more fats are stored as you are resting therefore you don't possess any energy hence the fats are stored!

First love to eat. Enjoy what you eat. Eat what you like a lot & what you dont like a less. Give preference to fried food than other type of food. Dont do too much roaming or lots of very tiering work. Dont eat much in restarunts or street food. They dont add much to the fat instead negatively affect how much you intake food. Sleep like a baby. This way sure to put a lot of weight. Now dont blame me if you become fat following my ideas.

"thin" is a very subjective word....some people are naturally thin, but not unhealthy and some people are naturally voluptuous, but not "fat"...the best way to tell if you are below a healthy weight is to calculate your BMI (Body Mass Index)
If your goal is to gain weight you should consume high protein foods with monounsaturated & polyunsaturated fat (the good for you kind....saturated and trans fats should be consumed in limited quantities since they are harder for your body to break down and can clog your arteries)
some good foods to consume are:
almonds, walnuts, avocados, salmon, tuna, cheese and of course plenty of fruits, veggies and water
Also, you should concentrate on building muscle tone..which will add shape to your body...don't forget to consume plenty of good carb foods (ex. whole wheat pasta, oatmeal, high fiber cereals) for energy

I dont see why you want to gather fat. Fat isnt healthy to have in excess and if you are surviving you obviously have enough to survive. Unless you are startving yourself, I suggest you go for muscle development instead of fat. The way to increase fat suppy, however, is to eat a greater volume of calories and be sure it isnt burned off. If it is still being burned off after you increase your calorie intake, then you have been blessed with a high metabolism and it is natural and perfect for you to be thin.

Good Luck;-)
