This is for a study I am doing, not for myself. Thanks!

During one my fruitless prayers to God it occurred to me that I had never asked to be born, and I wasn't asked if I wanted to be rich, or if I wanted to be extraordinary in some way. No, I was born an ordinary person and was lucky to have very decent parents who tried their best with me, but I wouldn't let them. For me the meaning of life has been to live as fully as I can and that involves risks sometimes. I've lived well, and at the end of my days I want to come to a sidelong skid, tired, worn out, used up yelling WOW! what a ride! Wish I could do it a few more times. And hopefully at the end of my time, I will have achieved my potentials and maybe if I'm lucky will have evolved into the person I could become. What more could I ask?

To fulfill your highest potential as a being that can grow spiritually...This is the difference between humans and animals.
Animals
There are three characteristics special to our human life:

#1 Due to the limitations of their body and mind, animals have no opportunity to understand or practice the spiritual path. Only humans are free from such hindrance and have the necessary conditions to engage in spiritual paths.

#2 Although there are many humans in the world, each one of us has only one life. One person may own many cars or houses, but even the richest person in the world cannot possess more than one life, and when that is drawing to an end, he or she cannot buy, borrow or manufacture another.

#3 If we use our life to accomplish spiritual development, our life is immensely meaningful. By using it in this way, we actualize our full potential and progress from the state of an ordinary, messed up being to an enlightened being. When we have done this we shall have the power to benefit all living beings. thus by using our human life for spiritual development we can solve all our human problems and fulfill all our own and others wishes. What could be more meaningful than this?

So if we ask ourself, 'What is the essential meaning of human life?' Finding good external conditions cannot be its essential meaning, for even animal can do this. Many animals are skilled at finding food, protecting their families, destroying their enemies and so forth; these abilities are not exclusively human. However, it is only humans who have the opportunity to attain enlightenment for the benefit of all living beings. This is the real meaning of our Human life.

None of us asked to be created, but here we are, the product of a pair of other lives. We are born, we grow, we learn, we experience, sh*t happens, and then we sit back and ask ourselves, "Why are we here?" sometimes with "Where did we come from? Where are we going?" Meanwhile, everyone else is busy living their life.
The most important thing in life is, more life!! Stop worrying about your own life, see if you can make your short existence on this planet mean something by making a positive difference in your own or someone else's life, or better yet, try to create another life, and then you will get a whole new perspective on the MOL. And read the Koran. It's written by the One who created you. What you will find in it is the meaning of YOUR life, and it really is different for everybody. PS every molecule in your body is 13.5 billion years old, and has been on this planet for 4.5 billion years. That's a fact.

That is something that you have to figure out for yourself, its different for everybody. I know for myself its to figure out what I am good at that can provide security for myself and my family. I am not talking mansion and luxury cars, but a decent living doing something that puts a smile on my face everyday instead of dreading waking up in the morning. Serving a purpose that I feel is important and passing on my values to people around me.

The meaning of life is to make your spirit more God-like so that you can live in total bliss eternally. We keep coming back until we get this right with God. Once you get it right and your spirit has grown enough you live on the other side forever with all your loved ones in total bliss.

Life is an eternal realm in which we cannot exactly fathom. I believe that it has great meaning and purpose. We have all been sent here down to earth to be tested. God is testing us to see if we will truly follow him and search for him and when we find him, do all that we can to exercise that faith that one day we will return to him with all of our intelligence and with our families. Now is the time to prepare to meet God. Read The Book of Mormon and you will find answers to many questions.
