There is one girl in my group of friends that I always seem to want to impress. I have no idea why, I don't want any kind of relationship with her...why is that?

There is something that draws you to her. It may not be an attraction thing in the general sense of the word, but there is this one thing you cannot put your finger on about her that drives you towards her. I have a friend like that at the gym I go to. Very sweet, caring women and something about her just makes me want to do good things.

Maybe you just need the affirmation that she recognizes you for all of the things that you so hope will someday mean the most to the girl you do find you want to be involved with. Maybe you admire her for who she is.....or what she offers you. You respect her talents and her offerings so you know that if you can gain her respect.......you would feel stronger about who you are inside. I'm sure she is impressed. *shrugs* Heck.....just ask her. :)

Maybe it's you are such good friends with her that over time you and her just seem to start caring what you do. And if you don't like her enough for a relationship just try to relax and keep moving on with your life.

I think it's because you admire her (even though you may not want a relationship with her). She probably has qualities that you value in a person and subconsciously you must feel that if you can impress HER, then you must be pretty ____(insert whatever quality you admire about her here)____ yourself.

Oh, I HATE to admit this... but... my MOTHER. Probably because I know she will never approve of anything I do anyway... even if I managed to cure cancer... Isn't that just the most pathetic thing you have ever heard????
I don't know why. Maybe you feel that she doesn't like you or respond to you the way your other friends does. We tend to try and please people we feel does not approve of us.... if that makes any bloody sense at all...

Maybe that is the only way she knows to show friendship or love. Some people get messed up when they are young and they confuse everything. Like how to show their feelings. I know a few like that. It's really sad when you think about it.
