No effect, status quo for longer.

Mr Musharraf went to pay respects to Mr Bush, and also addressed his countrymen when he talked about the threat of being bombed to the stone age.

The visit coincided nicely with the release of his book.

I think that the main effect of this visit would have been to strenghen the position of Mr Musharraf, since the US was reassured of his loyalty, and his constituents are pacified with his act of bravado.

It therefore ensures he will live longer and get to enjoy the increased revenue from his book.

Sine Mr Muharraf will remain inpower, we can assume continued support for the US, and the troops in Afghanistan, may be some support if Iran were to be attacked next.

I think this visit just keeps the pot simmering, not pushing it to over boil and spill over, not decreasing the fire.

I think it is a good move since Pakistani is a very neutral country and can have good influence on the US and besides, the US has an obligation to help Pakistan since it has been hit by several disasters and is still recuperating. Also it shows a reconciliation between a Muslim and non-Muslim country.Hopefully the Pakistani president will learn more from US politics and contribute to the Middle East crisis.

Hard to say, I mean he himself took a risk meeting with Bush. I think that he is pretty candid with the media, I also think he is a pretty good political leader and brings stability to a region that needs it badly. I also think that he exposes how the administration filters information, and shows the weaknesses of our own news media groups. You have to understand, that nothing is what it seems, and from the very start, information has been withheld from the public, so it is hard for some people to read between the lines sometimes....

I hope good comes from the meeting, I am tired of bad news....
