All of us in the states can only glean information about the war mainly from news stories, pundits and polls. I am wondering if there are any soldiers home from a tour in Iraq who would be willing to give us their opinions on how they think the war is going. Do the Iraqi's seem to want us to stay the course? Or do they want us out of there? How did your tour there affect your stand on the war?
I don't want gruesome tales of bloodshed. I am more interested in the mindset that prevails there among our soldiers.

I'm not a soldier but my older brother is, and he's in Iraq now, just talked to him on Saturday afternoon and thing over there are seriously bad. My brother is not racist but he says he's desperate to get out of there (which he will, in less than one month, thank God) because he said the more he's there, the harder is for him to stand Muslims. He says he doesn't want that at all and that's why he's taking a break. Just the other day the HMMWV he was driving, was bombed and the guy who was holding a weapon over the tank got injured. He showed me the pic of the tank was totally covered in holes. Thank God nothing happened to my bro. Muslims always protest when they see a pic of Jesus anywhere, so... it's easy to say they do not want them to be there anymore.

Young men go to war because they are ordered to. There is nothing glorious about being shot at. My neighbor is back from Iraq, he`was medically discharged for flipping out on a flightline. He was a F16 mechanic. Good luck getting a job now in the airline industry.

Yes they left out here with the no protection and the people don't want freedom. Did we suck all their oil out of the ground yet? I want to go home.

there was this ******* guy and he ******* jump out from behind the ******* tank to i ******* shot him in the ******* head and his blood ******* spewed and he ******* died. no ******* kidding it was ******* awesome!
