I am 7 weeks pregnant and I can not get enough to drink!!! I drink glass after glass after glass of water all day long and I'm still thirsty. Anyone know what could cause this? I've never been a big drinker before.

pregnancy causes your hormonoes to go hay wire and my mom when she was prego with my lil brother heehee I am 18 yrs older than he is funny right..but anyhoo she couldnt get enough to drink...water is really good and also try putting lemon juice in it...my mom said it helped quinch her thirst longer than anything else....stay away from anything carbonated....makes you even more thirsty than normal ....and gatordade isnt good cuz it has a lot of salt...hopefully you will grow out of it...just be glad you dont have morning sickness and suck down that water girl lol...good luck.

It's normal for pregnant women to drink lots of glasses of water. This is because our body temperature changes, which makes preggies feel hotter than they used to be. This is somehow the same as when you are having your monthly period which keep your body flushed with hotness. Anyhow, water is good for your body , it cleanses and washes out toxins. Avoid carbonated drinks since this would make your stomach ballooned fast and might caused you pains in giving birth. Don't worry about too much water intake, it won't do you any harm. No scientific findings that water is harmful to our bodies.

That happened to me, too, during all of my pregnancies. I just couldn't drink enough water. (And it was only COLD water; I wasn't thirsty for anything else.) I never developed gestational diabetes, and I wasn't dehydrated. I think it was about additional blood volume, myself. But whatever the cause, my OB said it was totally normal.

it happens, when i was pregnant that happened to me also, you cant do much about it though. I would feel like i was full of water and couldnt drink any more but the thirst was still there. I found that chewing gum helped a bit, dont know why though

Your body is going through alot off changes. But on the plus side water is so good for you when your pregnant. You need more. So it isn't so bad that you want it.

Talk to your Dr- could be Gestational Diabetes. Find out NOW- it's not hard to control- I did it w/ all 3 of my pregnancies. The shots really aren't that bad- but you need to find out RIGHT AWAY!
