I used to be into the Romanov family a few years back. I thought I heard that some of the bodies were found? But I have not been able to locate any proof of this.

Does anyone have any information?
Thank You!

Yes, but the bodies of Anastasia and Alexei are still missing. You may also have heard that DNA tests were conducted on Anna Anderson's bowel tissue and hair and indicated she wasn't Anastasia, although there are still unanswered questions if she wasn't.

The bodies were found in 1991 by the way. The Russians asserted GD Marie was missing while American and British teams asserted Anastasia was missing in 1992. It was said by Dr. Peter Gill that they were about 98.5% sure these were the Romanov remains. The Anna Anderson tests were done in 1994.

After the bodies were exhumed in June, 1991, they sat in laboratories for years while Russians fought over where they should be buried, Yekaterinburg or St. Petersburg. A Russian commission eventually chose St. Petersburg and the last known direct Romanovs were buried alongside their ancestors.

Yes, the bodies were supposedly found and DNA testing was done on them. It was the Romanovs and they were all buried there together. I'll do some research and see what I can find.

Their bodies and the bodies of their servants were found in a pit outside the town where they were murdered. They were given a funeral and buried along with their ancesters. Also the czar's mother Dowager Empress Maria Fedroyna's body was brought back to Russia from Denmark to be buried beside her husband Czar Alexander lll.
