I always tell my students..there is only one thing in life you can't lose and that is your education. You can lose your spouse, your car, your home, your child, your family, but they can NEVER take away a degree. Go for it and good luck.

If I interviewed someone who had a felony but then went to college, I would not refuse to hire him solely because of the felony. A college degree is a great way to show you've turned over a new leaf and put that way of life behind you. In fact, it may be the best way to convince an employer that you've changed. College requires a lot of hard work and discipline. It would show a lot of character that you were able to pull yourself out of such a bad experience.

If the felony were for rape, child molestation, or murder, you would have a tougher time. But, robbery, even probably armed robbery, I think could be overcome. The interview would be key. You'd need to really sell the story that you changed your life, went to college and now you are in a different place completely.

good luck!

No, people can change and going to college is an excellent place to start, Get yourself out of the mind set that you will always be a screw up because you already did something stupid and paid the time for it. You may always have a record but getting an education good grades, and staying out of trouble will show prospective employers that you have turned your life around.

It isn't a waste of time. Think of what you could accomplish in politics! Seriously though, you might still have trouble getting work but you'd have much more in your favor if you can prove you have a certain level of education. Depending on your course of study it may even equip you to become self-employed so you wouldn't have to depend on someone else being willing to hire you.

It'll be for you what you make of it.

Maybe instead skip college and learn a few financial smarts from people like Donald Trump or Robert Kiyosaki.
