Lets get the easy things aside first... dress professionally if it is a professional job but skip the business attire if you are going to be flipping hamburgers. Act accordingly. You are old enough to get job interviews I am sure you will do fine there. Just act natural.

Now for the other part...it is not how or what you should say. rather, you should not say anything until you know the motives behind those questions. A lot of these question have no right or wrong answers. They are fishing to see if you have any hidden negatives, you ability to take pressure etc.

"Why do I think your company should hire me? Well I am flattered you are spending time to discuss this opening. I think I have a lot to offer but I am not sure how we will match up until I know more about the company's need. Since you brought this up, what are some of the important elements for this opening"? Don't say anything else but keep your eye contact. Bam... you just did a u-turn and put the monkey right back on his back.

Now let the guy speak and listen carefully. When his done, start throwing our your strengths that matches his needs. Then follow up with another question "Does that answer some of you questions concerning my ability to help the company"? or "What else would you like to know about me"? "Interesting, why is that important to you"? Answer that ans then follow up with another question "What else is important for this job opening"? You want to find out the guy's agenda first and then feed him what you have. That is the technique to avoid barking up the wrong tree.

Making a u-turn with a question gets you out of quick sand in a hurry and put control of the conversation in your hands. Unless you are dealing with a expert HR guru, most department heads have no match to some of these simple interview techniques.

By the way, make sure you memroise all your career strengths and high points in short 30 to 60 second lengths and practice saying them. It need to come out smoothly.

Best of luck

You should wear anything that looks like you really want the job but not too flashy. Things you shouldn't say or ask at first is how muchthe pay is and you should also not talk bad about your last employer. if asked why do u think that our company should hire you? respond because i know i am capable of doing a good job doing....(whatever your job willl be) . Try to add in some positive things about yourself in the interview. If you want to know how much the pay is and the interview is ending you can ask casually at this time for the wage and always say thank you for your time i hope i wil be hearing from you and send a thank you letter even if you didn't get the job it shows you appreciate the opportunity

I'm guessing your female due to your icon. I'd wear something professional, either slacks or a mid-length skirt and a button down shirt or blouse. A business suit works as well. Make sure you do some research on the company you're interviewing with. Check out their website (if they have one) and see if there is a mission statemenent. Try to go into the interview with at least one question to ask. Bring along a copy of your resume even if they already have one. If you are offered food/drink, politely decline. As far as contributing, are you organized? Task-orientated? Creative? You want to highlight the aspects of yourself that will be most appealing to the company. Figure out where your strong points are and suggest ways in which they would be most helpful in acheiving the company's goals. Most of all, try to go in relaxed. Interviewers expect a certain bit of nevousness.

Hope that helps, good luck :)

Clothing wise - you want to look clean and professional. Business suit or nice slacks or skirt. Make sure to have eye contact and smile. One thing, do not giggle. You may laugh if something is funny but the nervous giggle is a distraction and the employer will note that. You must put yourself on the pedastool for the interview. Good traits. Past experiences that would contribute to a 'good worker.' You always want to grow with the companies you are applying for ... so check to see how they benefit you and bring it up. Benefits, work enviroment, possibly of advancement in a career of interest or speciality.

Good luck!

First make a list of past situations that have happened where you had to make decisions, solve problems, or act quickly, or anything that may be related to the job you want so you'll have things to talk about. if they ask you about specific situations where you did things, form your answer as -1)situation 2)action taken 3)results. don't mention how long you have done something or specific job titles, just describe the work you performed. Of course look professional and smile. Make sure you have good questions to ask them like opportunities for advancement, advanced training available, or ask the interviewers how they started their careers.

Don't sound like you're full of it. Dress professionally but don't overdress.

Why you they hire you? You are willing to learn, honest, ethical, and desire the chance to prove that you are capable.

Contribute? You can contribute to team work, new ideas, setting an example of worth ethic, productivity.

Honesty impresses. Sit up, be a listener. Be eager but not a freak.
