I have always been a lab fan!!! I have had 5 come and go in my life. Mudd was obviously chocolate and the love of my life. She died almost a year ago from liver cancer (she was 13). Both my husband and I are somewhat allergic to the shedding, so when we decided to get another dog, we looked for something with less hair and came across labradoodles. They are crosses between labs and poodles and don't shed. We have a puppy who is almost seven months old now that we named Doodle. She is the cutest, sweetest, smartest, friendliest puppy ever. She loves kids, has been easy to train, and has all the lab qualities (including the size... no tiny toy things for us, we wanted a "real" dog!!!). Highly recommend the labradoodle!

Mutts!!!! they are just as cute and lovable as any dog. Plus going to the recue league, you can save a dog that could of been put down. so, would you rather buy a dog thats pure bred from a owner or save a wonderful dog that might have had to be put down. Plus no dog is truely a pure bred; all dogs have been mix bred to make them just right for what we need. if its a guard dog or a hunting dog or whatever. So in my opinion you should adopt a dog or puppy from a rescue league.

The best breed is the breed that suites your lifestyle. Study the different breeds and find out what each one needs. Are you willing to take it to a groomer every month for the rest of your life? Are you willing to exercises it for miles everyday? Do you live in an apartment? Have lots of acreage? Anyway you get the idea. Find one that suits you. What I prefer may not be suitable for you. Good luck in your search.

omgsh. the best dogs by far are a maltese and shi-tzui mixed! they're the cutest little things ever and they are soo sweet! they dont bark much once u train them, and omgsh they make the best of friends. i have two, and they're brothers. when they play they look adorable and then when i am sad, they can sense it and they always come up to me and put there paw on my lap. they come is many different looks and theyre a perfect size. not too small and not big. also, they do not shed. these are a very smart breed of dogs and i believe theyre the best! i dont kno wut i would do without mine. they are just so entertaining!

Of course Labradors, but instead of looking for pure-bred, why not give a mixed-race dog a chance ? I got my dogs from a stray-dogs home, and I've never had such wonderful friends! It's not all in the outward appearance.....

I'm a big dog person. I have a doberman, who is awesome, but when she passes (she's almost 13) I want a rescued greyhound.

I got her from the SPCA, and I would encourage you to do the same. You can get purebreds, you can also get loveable mutts. They all deserve homes.

It depends where you live. If you live in an apartment one of the smaller breeds would be best for you. Large dogs need to have a place where they can get a lot of exercise . If you are going to get a dog please check out your local pound or SPCA. I found my best friend there years ago.

i think a mut is really the best pet. there are good pure bred dogs out there but a mut really has traits of all the dogs that are in him. they seem to be more loyal and behaved. my opinion anyway

Wiemeriner! They are EXTREMELY loyal, friendly, fun and will follow you where ever you go.. They are calm until you want to play. The only problem is that they can't STAND being away from you.
