Just eat healthily and get regular exercise, including weights; putting on some muscle will bulk you up a little and make you nice and toned. If you are severely underweight, you can go to the doctor and get protein products on prescription which will help you gain weight. But chances are the doctor will tell you that you are in the normal weight range for your height. I really would not do anything extra except healthy diet and exercise unless your doctor says it is medically necessary. It's actually healthy to be on the lean side.

If you are quite young, you may gain weight a bit as you get older and your metabolism slows down. My brother was very skinny as a teenager and a young man, but now he's in his 30s and is actually a bit overweight. So don't get into thinking "Oh, I can eat whatever I want and do no exercise and stay thin as a beanpole" because it doesn't always last. Get into good habits now, and it will pay off in the long run.

Well all the answers above is close to what u actually need to put on weight if u have high metabolism,But they missed out IE. u need to lift heavy in order to gain weight,as u have a high metabolism rate so just dont risk urself by eating too much faty food as its reach in cholestrol,as u have a disadvantage of not becoming "fat"- "which will give u signal ur diet is not a healty one", u would not be knowing when u need to stop eating fat :).Lift heavy 3 days a week, eat minimum 5 meals a day 40% carb 40%protien 20%unsaturated fat and try to sleep 8hrz a day and if possible drink starch from rice or "megamass"supplement. In months u will be seeing success, "I can bet on that" :)

Avoid overloading on sugars which metabolize quickly and only enhance an already fast metabolism.
Focus on fats and proteins in your diet, but still have the healthy carbs like veggies and fruits. Eat often and small amounts.
You will also bulk up with muscle (which is obviously preferable to fat) by weight training and resistance training. Avoid fast paced aerobic exercise, again this may work against you.
Only 1 thing though... the more muscle you make, the more calories you burn, so be sure to be supplementing your exercise with protein shakes, bars or some sort of slow metabolizing food.
Good luck!

Eat lots of Protein. Eat a lot of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. The only way your gonna gain weight from eating lots of protein is if you dont exercise it all off. Eat more food, but dont eat really unhealthy food. You want to gain weight and stay healthy at the same time. What people don't know about metabolism is that the heavier you are, the higher metabolism you have because it has to work harder because you have all that extra weight on you, the skinnier you are, the less your metabolism works.

My boyfirend is 5'11 and 205. He works out 5 out of seven days eats every 21/2 to three hours with each meal consisting of protien or a protein shake. You will still want carbs so try to have a carb with each meal as well ( carb being potatoe, rice ,etc...although its better to eat brown rice and sweet potatoes as they're low glycemic). Protein is the key and lifitng weights to add muscle mass. Muscle weighs more than fat. The more muscle you have the more you'll weigh and the better you'll look

My friend eats a lot of protein bars.... also try eating a lot of carbs like bisquits. You can find different stuff at drug stores to help also. I don't know where you live but I know around here bisquits and different breads are pretty popular (like Bojangles and homemade stuff) but yeah, good luck!

Whatever you decide to eat, make sure it's high in fat content ,( all the forbidden foods) eat until you're stuffed, then go straight to bed.every night. I guarantee you'll gain weight.
