Most well-made strollers have adapters that will allow you to use an infant car seat with them. So don't feel like you have to get a "travel system." I had the Graco Metrolite and Snugride, and I didn't like it. It was fine, I suppose, but it was clunky and big and hard to turn.

Join the Yahoo! StrollerSWAP group. Tell them what you imagine you'll be doing with the stroller, and they'll recommend a good one for you. Plus, you might be able to score a really cool, perfect-for-you stroller for a bargain basement price.

If you use a lot of public transportation, you need something different than if you do a lot of all-terrain walking. If you do tons of in-and-out-of-the-car errands, you probably want something different than if you only walk on smooth, paved surfaces and you never have to load and unload it. Mall walkers have different needs than folks who have to contend with curbs and snow. If you know you and your baby will be on your own a lot of the time, you might want something small and maneuverable since you won't have someone else to hold while you fold, or to hold doors or whatever for you.

Travel systems try to be all things to all people. Some moms think they're great. They have cupholders and trays and big baskets, and they're reasonably cheap. But you'll use a stroller for years and years, and it's worth it to do some thinking about what's important to you and how you'll use it so you don't get stuck with something that doesn't work for you.

I would also have to recommend Peg Perego, the Pliko 3 model. I would never recommend Graco, they're awful. Plus, that company was exposed recently for not informing the public of recalls with an important potential for injury and even death. Case in point, my first stroller was a Graco and even though I assembled it the right way, the wheel kept falling off. I would also not recommend Quinny. They look really nice but they aren't user friendly and don't have the parent lifestyle in mind.

Defenitely go for anything Peg Perego. I have used many of their products and I am 100% satisfied. They are durable, safe, stylish and most important, the design keeps baby's comfort as its utmost priority.

Happy shoppping!

I have the Graco Metrolite and it is great. It is so easy to haul in and out the trunk of my car and you can stear it in and out of doors one handed. The travel system comes with the carseat and the carseat base for around 200 bucks. The basket underneath is a bit flimsy but I am still very pleased with how light and compact it is. The Graco Snugride carseat it comes with is also one of the highest rated car seats on consumer reports. Good Luck.

I really like my Baby Trend Stroller. It came with an infant seat, also.

My is by Safety 1st. Got it at Wal-Mart for 100 bucks. And it's a travel system. Really nice, I think. You can fold it with one hand, which is great. Really REALLY easy to assemble, and the car seat is nice too.

Get one of the cute designs at Wal-Mart. They are cheap--but not made cheap. I had a Wal-Mart brand and my cousin had a fancy brand--they both worked the same way. They were both just as good in quaility, just as easy to use, and the only difference was that mine was cheaper!
