If zuko knows that there is no point in capturing the avatar why does he keep trying to do it he knows hi honor is not gonna get restored yet he still acts like its the only thing on his mind

Uhhh...When was the last time u watched Avatar? In the beginning of the 2nd season, Zuko is convinced by Iroh that capturing the avatar will not restore his honor in Fire Lord Ozai's eyes, especially after he was branded a traitor of the fire nation (by zhao after discovering he wasthe blue spirit). so he and Iroh both cut off their topknots and became refugees.
Since then he goes by the name "Lee", and has let his hair grow into some kind of crew cut. And the producers seem to have rewritten Zuko from an all-out villain to a tragic anti-hero.
Note: if u wanna know more, watch the episode "zuko alone" on YouTube. It is here where his transformation from villain to hero is complete.

I don't think that he is chasing Aang anymore. He has pretty much just assumed the life of a refugee and wants some peace, not the stress of chasing aang all over the world.
