Fact: Foley had inappropriate contact with a minor.
Fact: The minor in question was male.
Fact: The Republican party does not as a whole support Gay Rights
Fact: The problem with the situation is not that Foley is potentially Gay, but rather that he is potentially a pedophile.
Fact: Instead of simply renouncing the actions of this man, the Republicans on this site are striving to twist this into an attack against liberals as a defense mechanism.
Isn't all of that kind of sad?

What station are you listening to? The liberals are trying to turn a sick man's obsession into a political advantage. Until the left can someday admit that they are socialists and have no faith in the American public to attent to their own affairs, they will continue to be in the same boat with Foley...sick and twisted. When Senator Kennedy, drunk, left a young girl to die at the bottom of a creek, and Clinton (well we all know about that one) sported their faces, the Conservatives did not use this human tragedy to forward their political affairs. Which side of humanity are you on? Try Venevuela...your political leaning is much better suited to a place like that. Leave the USA and those of us who still love her to our own "devices".

It's NOT republicans in general, in fact, as a Republican I think Denny Haste rt and any one who knew about it should step down... who cares if Foley is gay...but rather the fact that he used his position of power to make inappropriate correspondence with minors...I think MOST Republicans would agree it is wrong and should not be tolerated!

Foley was wrong and even President Bush said so.

The problems with the Democrats is, they in their hypocritical demeanor and double standards are bringing up points that they ignored about Ted Kennedy & Bill Clinton.

Note: Foley resigned, Clinton remained in office.

Umm... I'm Republican and I don't support gay rights at all. Yes, some of our leaders that are Republicans twist things, but the Democrats are trying to turn this into a big deal, which yes it's wrong, but people on their side do it too and nobody wants to talk about them. Can we just forget are political parties and get along???? What he did was WRONG. Let's not try to turn this into a political scandal just so we can get votes for our parties.

This took place in Washington DC where the age of consent is 16....not a pedaphile if its legal.

No liberal attacking here..........what the hell is the deal with these guys anyway....the last place I would ever allow my kid to work is with a politician.

Yes, it is sad. What Foley did was sick and wrong as well as a disgrace to our government body. How can you possibly see it any differently?

Very, very sad. Almost as sad as the whole Bush administration who are responsible for over 3000 deaths in 9/11 plus 3000 or more in his war with thousands of our brave men & women permanetely wounded not to mention thousands of other innocent people who just got in his way in this senseless war. When are the American going to see the light???

Yes it is! I say .... if it looks like a duck and it quacks like a duck...It's a duck! They need to prosecute him and put him in jail! But they tried to ignore it and cover it up out of fear it would damage the republican party's upcoming election!
