I have a Canadian Driver's licence and not a motorcycle licence. Want to take the course this winter in Florida and get a licence.

You have to be a resident and have legal alien status before you can get licence. You will have to register with INS and they give you a letter to take to local licence office. I guess its not practical to return to canada and get motorcyle endorsement?
This has only been necessary since 9/11

I'm not sure if you have to be an American citizen or not. Contact the Florida Department of Motor Vehicles.
Do a web search "Florida DMV"
