my best friend for many years has basically abandoned me since i got pregnant with my 1sts child. my daughter is almost 1 now and i confronted my friend on why she hasnt been around and why she associate herself with other friends with kids but not me. she confessed that she is jealous and doesnt know how to get over it. i feel she has done things to spite me recently and for her to bring my baby girl into it upsets me... she has lots of friends that have kids, why is she treating me this way, is the friendship worth saving? also she lives around the corner and never visits my daughter and i go out "socially " with her and other friends as often as a new mom can. i dont feel that i have changed and my other friends have all treated me the same as usual. advice please!!!

Your "friend" has an issue she needs to get over on her own.
I would not try and put any more effort into this friendship, a true friend does not act this way.

Well you said you to were best friends. perhaps in her mind she thought she would get pregnant before you and have children . or that you two did everything together and now that you have the baby you have less time to do the things you use to do with her. And she is jelous. Either way a good friend would not be jelous of you or the baby. I'd be careful im sure your friend wouldn't do anything crazy. but everyoen has read the papers over jelous friends and how they get so upset that a baby has taken over someone frienship that they could hurt the innocent child in some way. I'm not saying for you to be paranoid here. but you never know whats going through someones head. and she was honest and up front with you saying she's jelous of your baby. So why push her buttons.

You have other friends also continue doing your visits with them. and don't feel to sad over this best friend.. If she had felt the same way she would have been happy for you and not deserted you.
