Yeah, what else do you think it is? Philosophy? Dance falls into category of Performing Arts, nothing strange about it.

It's still a perfroming art. It takes some skill to pull off moves in the right way, and sometimes it can take huge amounts of physical effort and strain to master a certain form. Art is generally something that can conjure ideas or emotions... a performance of a girl dancing after her mother's funeral differs alot from the dancing after a wedding ceremony. Never tell a dancer that what they do isn't art. I know some girls at my arts school that would drop kick you in an instant.

having been a dancer for the past 14 years, trust me that dancing is definitely an art. more specially it's a performing art like acting and singing. dance is the way a person expresses their feelings through only the use of body movement. the same way a painter expresses themselves through their paintings, and a writer through their words. Because Art is in essence the expression of your feelings through some form or another.

if it is done to tell a story to a great piece of music, it is art, if it is just to have than it's not
