HELP!! Whenever a new window pops up my computer freezes! I have Verizon Fios. Whenever a new window needs to come up my computer freezes and I have to restart. It does not matter if the pop-up blocker is on or off. I have tried running my virus scanner and my Anti-spy. Nothing Helps. Also, every time I sign off of the internet I get an error message from Microsoft. It always asks me if I want to send an error message. I am so tired of this. Does anyone know what I can do!!!!!

I recommend (for I had this problem) you try rebooting your whole harddrive. This may work and may not, but you would lose all your saved stuff. I would try contacting a local proffesional for more help. Hope this helps.

It sounds like you still have a bug. Even though you run your anti-virus and anti spy, those still don't pick up any worms. You should try to run the "Spy Sweeper". You will be surprised with how many things it will pick up. Also, there could be some setting or rule that your antivirus created that is working against your programs that you are trying to run. Sometimes, the antivirus "recommends to block", but you should "allow the exception" depending on what program or software you are running.

You probably have spyware. Try restarting your computer in safe mode, you do this by hitting F8 as your computer boots and a menu will appear. Go to Safe Mode with Networking. Try running your spyware protection first. If you want to try some other software. Google Adaware. Its free and works really good. I hope that helped.

If you want to just clean your computer completely from any type of spyware or viruses. Try to find you restore CD's that came with your computer. This will wipe it to its original settings. If you can back up the data like your pictures, music, documents.... DO IT,... then wipe it. Hopefully its not a hardware issue.

This is for windows XP only...

Go into the internet options, And look under General folder look for the words "Temporary internet files", look for the word "settings" and click on it. Now you will see the temporary internet file display box popup. Click view object and when this folder pops up. Now you can look to see if any of the objects you have there are corrupted or damaged. If they are delete the damaged ones only.

If you are any other windows...you may need to reinstall the browser

What browser are you using? I find that this happens to me more often if I use Internet Explorer. Firefox is a browser that works much better. It's a smaller program, thus uses less power from your computer.

Or, maybe you need to take your computer into a shop. It could have files missing or a virus/trojan that your virus scan is missing.

if you have a lot of programs running at the same time it is possible that it is bogging your computer down. like if you have any download programs like bearshare or napster or whatever it slows your computer down.
