Gila River casino out at Wild Horse Pass is pretty close to the airport, take the 60 South and there will be signs posted for where to get off, about 10-miles, just outside of Ahwatukee. That's the one I hear about the most and the closest to the airport. -- Take a look at the link below for a list of area casinos and their websites. Not all casinos are on the outskirts anymore. Metro Phoenix has really encroached on the reservations.

I think Casino Arizona is at the Loop 101 and McDonald, which is about 20 minutes away from the airport. Google Casino Arizona. They all are on Indian Reservations so you won't find any in town. As for "best", I have no idea.

There are no casinos in Phoenix. They can only be on the Indian reservations and run by the Indians, so you would have to drive to the outskirts of Phoenix. If you are expecting Vegas-style casinos, you will be very disappointed. I went into one once and left after looking around. It was pathetic.

If going to a casino is your reason for visiting Phoenix, then you should reconsider and fly directly to Las Vegas. There is much more to see and do in Phoenix and all of Arizona besides staying inside a casino all day.
