Does anyone have one of these? I've had a regular cell phone, but I spend more time talking with people face to face than on phone... so is this a good product? Is it more expensive than other phones? Thank you.

Tracfone is only exp if you buy a low number minute card the more minutes on the card the less per minute you'll be paying.
I would go with Virgin mobile. They have minute plans you can choose just like big cell phone companies. You can choose to pay per minute, or buy one of their plans where you get nights and/or weekends free.
Cingular charges you a dollar every day you use your phone plus the per minute charges.
Verizon charges you a dollar a day on days you don't even use your phone, now that's a rip off.
I just resrarched all of this pre paid stuff and virgin mobile seems the best option. It's closest to a reg cell phone comp but it's pre paid and has like four diff options to fit your phone usage.

If You Seldom use Your Cellphone, it's the Cheapest way to go. You can Buy the Phone for less than $50, then get a Pre-Paid Card that You enter the Numbers from into Your Phone, about $20 for 60 Minutes, and until you use the Minutes up, you Pay absolutely nothing more. And, with some TracFones, You can use Regular Batteries, AAA I Think. No Monthly Fee, Contract, or Minimum Charge after that. I'm with US Cellular, and I Seldom use My Phone, yet I have to Pay $21 per Month whether I use it or not. That's $252 per Year. Just make sure You've got a good Signal in Your Area.

I would agree with everyone; Tracfone is the worst of the prepaid providers. Mostly because it is ineffectivly ran.

Putting minutes on your phone can take twenty minutes, while other companies it takes seconds.

The only good thing I can think about Tracphone is that they might make good gifts for people, because you can buy a phone and for the 100 dollar card, the minutes will last a year. All of the other providers require add new cards every 1 to three months to keep account active.

They are more usually more expensive than everyone else.

Tracfone is the worst of the pre-paid cell phones. I'd go with either Virgin Mobile or Cingular Go.
