No, it's not caused that way - unless you are a girl and stuck incredibly filthy hands inside yourself.......

Symptoms & Signs
Urethritis: discomfort or pain at the urethral meatus or a burning sensation throughout the urethra with micturition (dysuria).
Cystitis: pain in the midline suprapubic region and/or frequent urination
Hematuria (bloody urine)
Cloudy and foul-smelling urine
High temperature lasting for more than 3 days should be a trigger to get the urine culture done to ascertain whether the fever is due to UTI or not. UTI is very harmful especially in infants since it can cause permanent renal damage.
Nausea and vomiting, accompanied by high fever may indicate a more complicated UTI in which the kidney is infected
Some urinary tract infections are asymptomatic.
Increased confusion and associated falls are common presentations to Emergency Departments for elderly patients with UTI.

Urinary Tract can be from not drinking enough water, and bad diet, i.e. too much junk food. Your pee can be thick like a syrup, it has a very strong smell to it, and it may be a bright orange in colour. It can also affect your thinking.

Help is at hand: You need to be drinking Organic Apple Cider Vinegar 1 tablespoon per small glass of water at least three times per day, until the UTI has gone.

Oh, by the way, you probably won't want to be masturbating whilst you have a UTI. Luck to you.

It can be caused by having too much sex, so I think it's possible. A UTI is the infection of the small tube that the pee comes out of when you urinate. It can be very painful to pee, it can cause you to urinate A LOT, and can give off an odor. Usually, if caught early, it only takes a few days of antibiotics to clear up. Nothing too serious. Go to webmd.com for a complete list of symptoms. Hope this helps!

I'm actually getting over one right now myself. I have chronic cystitis, and so every time I have sex, I have to go to the bathroom immediately and drink a glass of water to clean myself out. It's been my experience that the most common way for males to get UTIs is from unprotected anal sex (bacteria tends to settle in if you don't wash right away), although masturbating without washing your hands first, or whatever else you may be using, seems like a good way to get one. For women, masturbation without clean hands is more likely to cause a yeast infection. But anyway, if you can't get antibiotics right away, go to the pharmacy and buy cranberry pills - DON'T GET THE JUICE. The juice has a lot of acid in it and will irritate the living hell out of your bladder. The cranberry pills extract the vitamins that you'll need to clean yourself out. But they won't completely eliminate the bacteria. Also, Uristat and Azo relieve symptoms temporarily, but it will turn your urine orange and possibly make you nauseous if you don't eat something before you take them.

I'd advise you to get the antibiotics as soon as you possibly can; bladder infections, if left untreated, can turn into kidney infections (bladder pain plus a lot of lower back pain). And those tend to be pretty serious - I've only had two, but both times my doctor told me to go straight to emergency and they hooked me up to an IV. And that sucked.

I hope you feel better soon.

Dont believe a foul odor is a primary symptom of a urinary tract infection.

I would think you have some other type of infection, or perhaps a different bacteria than usual.

See a doctor or you could cause yourself further harm!

Masterbation does not cause UTI's. They are cause by bacteria entering your urethra and spreading to your bladder. Uncleanliness causes UTI's. They are painful and your urine can be cloudy or really dark. UTI's are serious and can lead to kidney infections.
The odor you speak of could just be your semen. The food you eat often has an effect on the smell of what you produce.

Although unlikely, there is a possibility that the infection travels from Uterus to bladder. The urinary tract infection is painful and accompanies bleeding. Have a lot of cranberry juice and visit a doctor as I am sure that you will receive a Cypro anti-biotic prescription.

Women usually get UTI's, but it's still possible for men to get them as well. If it hurts when you pee (feels like its burning) and if it feels like you have to pee ever other second, then it is possible that you might have a UTI.

If this is the case, go get it checked out! you'll need anti-biotics. in the meantime, drink lots of water/cranberry juice (cranberry juice is highly acidic due to the high vitamin C content. this kills off a lot of the bacteria, but wont cure the problem)

However, if you're just not cleaning up after masturbating -- please do!

A UTI is caused by moving bacteria from the rectal area to the urethra. This CAN happen during masturbation.
