Miami won the championship because of what they did on the court. The Mavs play defense it's just that the Heat ran them into the ground. When a team relies on the transition game a lot of points are going to be scored. That doesn't mean they don't play defense.

No. They are champions because they beat a team that beat everyone else they had to to get to the finals. Ask the other teams in the West if Dallas plays D.

They can't choose who they play so no, they are the real champs. Anyway, Dallas held Miami to under 100 pts in all but one game in the Finals, by the way. Also, according to NBA stats, Dallas had the 6th best D in the league and Da Bulls, Mia's 1st rd. opponents, were the 3rd best. (By the way, Det's overrated rep was just that, they finished 19th and were the worst defensive team Mia played in last year's playoffs).

So do not be fooled by Dallas' offensive style of play, they do play good D. You're just confused because Miami had the #1 D in the NBA in 05/06. Comparing any team to Mia and they will come out looking lousy on D.

Dallas plays more D since Avery Johnson started coaching the team. That is the reason they made it to the finals. Miami does not control who they got to play they beat the Pistons to get to the finals.
