heat it. Water boils at 100C. In most labs, removal of moisture is done by heating to 105C for a period of 24hrs.

If you know the original hydration state of the compound, you can easily calculate the mass of the compound after dehydration. Heat it until its mass reaches the calculated value.

My guess: heat the sample until you think its okay. Let it cool, mass it heat it again. Repeat: if the mass stays the same all the water is gone, if its less - theres still water
