2 hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom, it dissolves many substances, and it has a slight charge (which is why Water expands when it freezes). Also, a fun fact: Although water is made of hydrogen and oxygen, those 2 gases explode when combined in nature. As an add on to when someone mentioned it gets slippery when frozen....

Many people believe this happens because a thin top layer of ice melts, creating a slippery surface. However, water is actually slippery when frozen because the 2 hydrogen atoms resting on the oxygen atoms aren't very strong, and tend to wobble. This wobbling creates the slippery-ness.

At a cold enough temperature, the slipperyness will eventually go away, as the hydrogen atoms become too stiff to wobble.

water is amphoteric- that means it can act as an acid or a base

water is a bent structure, it's shape looks like a V.

Water has polar bonds, meaning the electrons are unevenly shared. Thus the oxygen on one molecule is attracted to the hydrogen on the other molecule.
