The first thing you do, IMMEDIATELY, is to write a thank-you note to the person who interviewed you. Not e-mail. Handwritten. Appreciate your giving me your time, enjoyed meeting you, very interested in the position because etc. etc. Make it genuine but keep it short and simple. Write a draft first, check spelling!

If you haven't heard in a week, it's a good idea to call and inquire about the status of your application. Remind them that you are still very interested in the position and hope to hear something from them soon.

Meanwhile, keep looking. Don't put all your eggs in the one basket. Good luck!

Its always a good idea to keep in touch with the interviewer, even if you were not the favourite interviewee at the time. So, writing an e mail or even a snail mail letter, just to say "enjoyed the meeting", would be a good strategy. You see often the favoured person doesnt work out. Usually the company then starts the whole process again; But presuming that you interviewed quite well, then by staying "top of mind" might well get you a call back. There is nothing to lose with this approach. Good luck!

Look wait a week and call back to the employer and say( yes I had filled out an application for (whatever the position) and I was calling on the status of my application). Sometimes **** happens and it seems they never call back. Being persistant and seeming interested usually will work maybe youll call and somone got fired or quit and youll be the first on their mind also if you really want to work for that particular company just keep applying. Keep your head up it will come. Good luck
