I am very thin. I don't have an eating disorder, just naturally really small. But this has become a problem. People mistake me for being 13 sometimes, when I'm really 17. I'm 5' 3" and about 90 lb. Then, I liked this guy, but I found out he said, "She's cute, but too skinny". Sometimes when I get up infront of a class to do a presentation I hear people make comments. So many rude people have said comments about me having skinny legs and arms. I do get postive comments, but even then I hate it. It really hurts my feelings that people have to make comments about my weight.

Some people don't understand that when they say something along the lines of "Oh, your sickly anorexic thin" that it hurts just as much as when you say your fat to a larger person. Most people wouldn't dare going up to someone who's large to make a remark about them being overweight/fat but many go up to individuals who are skinny and say they look anorexic and so on. I'm like you and it really hurts and I get so angry when people come up to me and make remarks like that. They really don't understand how bad it truly makes me feel, I didn't choose to be this way. This is just how I am and I can't change it. I guess that's the attitude you have to have to get through it. If your really insecure you could ask a doctor about helping you gain some healthy weight. If you add some muscle on your small frame you could look much healthier, even if you know you already are healthy. I mean- It can't hurt? Sometimes I get treated like I'm a little kid because of my height and weight and it often gets frusterating but I'm still trying to stay strong through it... =]

I don't think anything is wrong with being skinny if thats your genetics. I know many people- large and skinny whom are beautiful in their own ways!

Age 17 and 90 lbs is a bit underweight ( the guy is probably afraid of breaking you like a little china cup ). Maybe you could try some physical activity and increase your food intake to match the activity. Also check with your doctor as you may have a metabolic problem.
As far as a fashion thing, unfortunately, people who even look like they have the eating disorder get lumped in that category ( the junkie look has very limited appeal )
Most people prefer the Olympic look, but just be the best you can be . . . that is the most important.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with being skinny unless you have a serious eating disorder or are harming yourself in order to be that way. If you're naturally skinny then more power to you! You've been blessed with a high metabolism or crazy thyroid (what I have) and a lot of people wish they were as thin as you. I'm 5'11" and weigh 106 lbs. and I consider myself to be very healthy. I eat great and exercise and I feel good. Some people are mean about it but I can't help the way I am. Be proud to be tiny!

Nothing is wrong with being skinny and small, I'm really small too. As long as this is how you naturally are, then it's fine. If you wanna put on some weight, I suggest running or working out 4 or 5 days a week to put on some muscle weight. I've been on varsity cross country and track for a few years and I'm not AS skinny anymore. Just love the way you are, and WORK IT.
They're just jealous =)

There's nothing wrong with being skinny. I used to be skinny like you, and yes people were as nasty too. Its a face in life that we go through. I tried not think about it though I was very conscious of it and bothered me at times. I learned to live with it. Interesting enough, as soon as I left home I started to put on weight, and as I got older, it did not bother me anymore. Today, I am still a slim adult and get a lot of positive comments about my body. Just think how much money people spend to look as beautiful as you do. Be positive, dress nice and look smart.

I have the same problem. I am 21 5'9 and 115lbs. People think I'm 16. I used to hate it, but you have to look at the positives. By the time I am 40, I'm going to look like I am 30! Don't let it get to you, people are ALWAYS going to find something wrong with you regardless of who you are. Think of all the food you get to enjoy without gaining a pound, it is awesome! You will fill out a little more with age, just be patient!

I know that it's really hurtful when ppl tease u about how u look...But please love yourself. If u don't love urself, no one else can love u! Be happy with ur weight...being small is nice and cute for a girl! Eventually there will be a guy who likes u for who u are, not how u look. And i don't see why there's a problem with a girl for being small. Good luck! :-)

I used to be skinnier, and people always accused me of being on speed. Freakin lovely, huh.

There is nothing wrong with being skinny, everybody has different bodies. I've been fat too, and trust me, it was way better being accused of being on drugs than it was to be called "that fat girl"
